This year marks the birth of N4; the National Newcomer Navigation Network, a pan-Canadian network designed to foster and promote connections between all those who provide navigational assistance to newcomers in the health and social services. Ultimately, we want to create a network to support seamless, consistent and equitable experiences for all newcomers, regardless of which Canadian city they first call home. The idea was born out of the challenges we faced when attempting to provide the best possible experience to the many Syrian refugees we served starting in later 2015.
