Media relations and patient advocate for socioculturally safe health care
Seeta Ramdass, an alumna of McGill University, is known for her dedication to the advancement of equitable health care for patients and families, particularly for encouraging cultural sensitivity and safety with respect to socioculturally diverse and marginalized populations. These are among the passions that she brings to the N4 network.
The longest standing member of the Montreal Children’s Hospital Family Advisory Forum, she serves on the boards of directors of several organizations including the McGill University Health Centre and the Conseil pour la protection des malades. She is also a leader of Community Health Montreal, a patient-centric initiative that is working with culturally diverse, disenfranchised and newcomer communities to tailor the delivery of healthcare services to their needs.
Throughout her career of over 25 years in health care communications and media relations, Seeta has promoted the clinical, teaching and research successes of the hospitals and universities with whom she has worked. She has been instrumental in producing medical reports, news stories and documentaries on a variety of health topics. In addition to several other languages, she also speaks English and French.
