As 2021 comes to a close, we are celebrating many exciting milestones at N4! These achievements were possible thanks to the dedication of many people.

  • 800+ N4 members
  • 32 webinars and PD trainings
  • 250+ e-Learning trainings
  • 120+ partner organizations
  • 1,000+ English / French resources
  • Mobile app (launching soon!)

Here are a few additional program highlights we’re proud of:

  • Launch of our simplified and searchable database
  • Completion of the N4 Online Program in newcomer navigation by the first and second cohorts
  • Formation of our Community of Practice (CoP), including a national Steering Committee, survey of our stakeholders, and 2 working groups to address systemic barriers to equitable access and experiences in health and social service faced by newcomers, and to ensure access to interpretation guidelines and build a toolkit for providers to support Afghan refugees

2022 promises to be another rewarding year as we look forward to:

  • Completion of the N4 Online Program in newcomer navigation by the third cohort of sponsored students
  • Rolling out the organizational-level database
  • Holding our first annual N4 conference from March 1-3, including an amazing list of cross-sectoral speakers and interactive networking opportunities to foster learning and facilitate connections
  • Broadening our outreach to supporting newcomers in rural and northern communities

We couldn’t do this work without our amazing partners and supporters. We’re so grateful to the N4 Advisory Committee, members of the CoP Steering Committee and working groups, and N4 Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who share their time, energy, and knowledge. Thank you to our growing N4 membership, for serving as our ambassadors, and for sharing ideas, resources, and feedback. We are proud and honoured to have partnered with Saint-Paul University to co-develop the N4 Online Program in newcomer navigation. Our sincere appreciation to CHEO for hosting N4 with great warmth and enthusiasm, and to IRCC, whose support and funding make our work possible.

We look forward to continuing to build our network of newcomer-serving professionals across Canada, to connect, learn and collaborate as we advance equity for newcomers. We wish the entire N4 community a very happy holiday season, full of light and joy. May 2022 bring us much health and peace.
