Mental Health E-Learning Resources

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we have curated e-learning resources covering mental health in a range of topics of interest to our members. You can enter the keyword “mental health” to view a full list of courses on this topic but the following are some examples. Please click on the following links to learn more.

  • Immigrants and Refugees:
    • Refugee and Immigrant Health is an e-learning module developed by SickKids which explores how settlement challenges affect new immigrants and refugees' physical and mental health.
    • Refugee Mental Health Front-line Worker Training is an e-learning course offered by the Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of BC (AMSSA) with the objective to enable front-line workers with the tools for assessing refugee trauma and addressing mental health needs.
    • La santé mentale des réfugiés de la Syrie is a French-language webinar exploring Dr. Ghayda Hassan’s work with Syrian refugees.
  • Impact of Covid-19:
    • Carrying On: Mental Health Strategies for COVID-19 is a podcast series hosted by Dr. Bill Howatt, Chief Researcher at The Conference Board of Canada.
    • Mental Health and Resilience During Covid-19 is a webinar presented by the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine and explores the types of mental health distress among health workers, potential resources and approaches to manage psychological distress.
    • Aider vos enfants et adolescents pendant une pandémie is a French-language webinar which explores the impact of Covid-19 on the mental health of children and adolescents.
  • PTSD:
    • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a self-paced, online tutorial developed by The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and provides general information about PTSD.
    • PTSD and Refugees / Asylum Seekers is a five-minute video about the prevalence of PTSD in refugees and asylum seekers.
  • Self-Care:
    • Physician Wellness, Engagement, and Excellence and Psychological First Aid and Mental Health explore strategies and opportunities to improve physician wellness, decrease burnout, and support professional practice.
    • Understanding the Impact of Covid-19 on your Mental Health is a webinar presented by Homewood Health and explores anxiety and depression, typical reactions, and provides strategies, tips and tools for regulating and managing your own emotions as well as tips for supporting others who may be experiencing difficulties.
