Dr. Ibukun Abejirinde’s journey into the realm of digital health is a fascinating blend of curiosity, and a deep commitment to maternal and child health. Originally from Nigeria, her diverse background spans clinical medicine and community health psychology, and she has lived and studied in multiple countries, including Ukraine, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Her passion for global health, particularly in lower-middle-income countries, was ignited when she received an Erasmus Mundus joint doctorate fellowship for her PhD. This opportunity allowed her to explore digital technology to enhance maternal healthcare delivery in rural sub-Saharan Africa.

Impact Stories

Here, we celebrate the journeys and triumphs of IEHPs who have utilized the N4 IEHP Resource Hub to integrate into Canada's healthcare system. Discover inspiring stories of determination, resilience, and achievement as IEHPs navigate licensure pathways, enhance their clinical skills, and build valuable networks.

In 2016, Natalia Pinto embarked on a transformative journey from Colombia to Canada, driven by her passion for pediatrics and her desire to work with special needs children. During her third year as a pediatric resident, she participated in an observership at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, specifically in the Developmental Pediatrics service. This experience solidified her commitment to her specialty and introduced her to a new healthcare environment.
