Ottawa, August 29, 2021—Canada and its allies have received assurances from the Taliban that Afghan citizens with travel authorization from other countries will be allowed to leave Afghanistan.

The N4 team has been closely watching the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, as well as the promise of the Canadian government to resettle particularly vulnerable Afghans in Canada. Many of us in the healthcare, social service, and settlement sectors have been reflecting on the Syrian refugee crisis and how this may be similar or different.
